Personal Confidence Building

Be confident and know YOU are worthy of success!

Below you'll find 3 questions to help you define your unique vision of "success."

You'll also learn how to build confidence in the undeniable fact that you deserve to achieve success as you've defined it, as well as the happiness that it brings.

From time to time we all, deep down, question whether or not we really deserve to be happy, and whether or not we really deserve to achieve success.

That nice Porsche Boxster, not for us.

That beautiful mansion, not for us.

A happy family…harder to say you don't deserve that, isn't it?

Part of the challenge in convincing ourselves that we deserve happiness and success, revolves around clearly defining our own unique vision of what success really means for us.

Forget the white picket fence, the Boxster, the mansion, the 2.5 happy children if that doesn't cut it for you.

Instead, define your own vision of success-what will really make you happy in your life or your career.

And then, challenge yourself to brainstorm all the endless reasons why you deserve it-believe me the reasons exist, and once you get going you'll probably find your head circumference has slightly grown as well (but don't worry, a slightly big head has never hurt anyone).

Define your unique vision of "success"

Forget TV.

Forget expensive advertising.

Answer the following questions as best you can from your own perspective:

1. When you dig really deep down and search for what really makes you happy, what do you find? Is it family? Is it friends? A pet, a plant, a great job? Perhaps they aren't even things-maybe they are personal characteristics. List these.

2. If you're finding it difficult to come up with anything, try this: think of someone who you truly admire and consider to be successful. What is it that you admire about him/her? What about them, in your opinion, makes him/her successful? List these.

3. What would you like your legacy to be. When your great-grandchildren hear that you were a successful person, what are the top 3 things you'd like to have mentioned about you? Write these down.

Each of these questions should provide you an opportunity to think about success in a different way.

When you have worked through all of them, review your list of "success criteria" and create your personal goals.

Most likely, you've discovered that you've already achieved some of the criteria on your list, and that indeed, you're already a success! Congratulations! Now, get ready to go for the rest!

YOU deserve "success"

Now that you have a clear idea of what success means to you, don't you feel just a little bit more confident that you deserve to achieve it?

If it isn't the Boxster, maybe it's just being the best mom or dad you can be.

Whatever your vision of success, now translated into personal goals, the next step is to write down of all the reasons you can possibly think of, for why you deserve to achieve your remaining goals, and to be successful!

Don't be shy about asking friends and family for additional reasons, when and if you should run out.

Have fun, and live life to the fullest!

And, remember: Don't strive to be better than others, just strive to be your very best self!
