What I have discovered as a sole trader and as the MD of a small company, is that it can be pretty lonely. Some of us have life partners or other relationships for support, but if you’re trying to talk business with a life partner, the relationship often gets in the way. And, if you talk about your business to someone who is an employee, they’ve rarely got the same commitment to the business as you have.

So who can you talk to about your business? Who’s your sounding board?

Many people set up in business selling their own technical skills, spend all week with their clients and then go home to run their businesses in the evening or at weekends. They spend a huge amount of time working IN the business but not much time working ON the business. Are you caught in the “hamster trap”? Going round in circles, running very fast but not really getting anywhere different ?.

Coaching is mostly about soft skills. And, soft skills make the difference in business. Businesses are affected by people’s personal lives, their personal issues and their dreams and motivations.

I will invite you to look at areas in your life and business you may not have thought of and I can be a very effective sounding board.
