SHORT STATEMENT
I’M
INTERESTED IN HELPING PEOPLE. My goal is to guide you towards
your goals, to enjoy better relationships with family, friends
and co-workers. I have helped heterosexual and gay couples,
multicultural families, individuals and inmates to improve
their lives and recognize and relieve stress. I am trained
to recognize serious and pervasive mental illness. I will
not burden you with intense homework assignments, rather I
will rely on you to process what we discuss during our sessions
and apply it when the time is right.
A
BRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY
I
believe that people who have things in common might better
relate in sessions and in overall progress so I’ll share a
little about myself.
Two
parrots and two cockatiels and an Italian Greyhound currently
own me, one of my parrots is bilingual and very entertaining.
I am not originally from the US but moved here at an early
age. Although I consider Maryland my home, I must confess
that there is still a little nostalgia on occasion. I consider
myself fortunate to have grown up in three different cultures,
this explain my interest and curiosity in anthropology and
sociology. I believe that it is important to understand
your client’s cultural background, I know I feel a bond with
people from other cultures because I have experienced the
positives and negatives of leaving your country of origin
and adopting a new culture and language.
